Where a participant is under 18, we require a signed parental or legal guardian consent before they take part.
1.When consent is required
- Registration for any Esporting event by a participant under 18.
- Appearance on any livestream, recording or photograph.
- Inclusion of personal data in tournament brackets, leaderboards or marketing.
- Travel to or from venues organised through Esporting.
2.Consent form
Our standard consent form captures: participant name, date of birth, school/college, dietary & medical info, emergency contact, media consent options and parental signature. Forms are issued at booking and stored securely.
3.Age verification
Event registration requires a date of birth. We use this to apply age-rating rules (see Age-Appropriate Game Guidance) and to flag where consent is required.
4.Withdrawing consent
Parents may withdraw consent at any time by emailing safeguarding@esporting.co.uk. We will remove the participant from the activity and, where reasonable, from past media within 30 days.
5.Retention
Consent records are retained for 6 years after the event for safeguarding and insurance purposes.
